The camera is a HD network model equipped with a 1/2.8‑inch Exmor R CMOS sensor delivering roughly 3.27 million effective pixels. It supports a wide range of signal formats, including 1080p at 59.94/50/29.97/25 Hz, 1080i at 59.94/50 Hz, 720p at 59.94/50/29.97/25 Hz, as well as NTSC and PAL. In terms of low‑light performance, the minimum illumination (at 50% video level) is 0.01 lux in high‑sensitivity mode (colour, F1.6, AGC on, 1/30 s) and 0.1 lux under normal settings. The recommended ambient illumination spans from 100 to 100,000 lux, while the signal‑to‑noise ratio is rated at 50 dB or better.

Gain control offers both auto and manual options, with adjustments from step 0 to 28 (in 2‑step increments, totalling 15 steps) and a maximum gain limit adjustable from step 6 to 28 (12 steps). Shutter speed can be set anywhere from 1/1 s to 1/10,000 s across 22 discrete steps, and the system uses internal synchronisation. Exposure is managed via auto, manual, priority (shutter‑ or aperture‑priority), brightness‑based, EV compensation, or slow AE modes. Backlight compensation is included, along with peaking control (16‑step) and a variety of white‑balance presets: auto, ATW, indoor, outdoor, outdoor auto, sodium lamp (fixed/auto/outdoor auto), one‑push, and manual.

The optical lens provides 20× zoom, covering focal lengths from 4.3 mm (wide) to 129.0 mm (tele) with an aperture range of F1.6 to F4.7. Digital zoom adds another 12×, giving a total of 360× when combined with optical zoom. Autofocus can be set to normal or low sensitivity, and there are also one‑push AF, manual, interval AF, zoom‑trigger AF, and focus compensation when ICR mode is active. Horizontal angle of view varies by video mode: for 1080p and 720p it is 63.7° at wide end and 2.3° at tele end; in SD mode it shrinks to 47.8° wide and 1.7° tele. The minimum object distance is 10 mm at wide angle and 1200 mm at telephoto (default 300 mm).

Additional imaging features include Auto ICR, Visibility Enhancer, noise reduction (6 adjustable levels), progressive scan, image stabilisation, StableZoom, digital output, spherical privacy zone masking, motion detection, slow AE response, and a suite of image effects (electronic flip, negative, black‑white, mirror, and colour enhancement). The unit also supports image freeze, slow shutter, temperature readout, on‑screen title display (up to 11 lines of 20 characters each), and camera module identification. Control is handled via the PELCO‑D 485 protocol, with video outputs provided through RJ‑45 (HD) and BNS (SD). Power supply accepts 6.0‑12.0 V DC; consumption is 3.2 W when zoom/focus is idle and 4.0 W during active zoom/focus. The operating temperature range is –5 °C to +60 °C, storage from –20 °C to +60 °C, with operational humidity of 20‑80% and storage humidity of 20‑95%.
